Elizabeth Apelles, founder of the award-winning healthcare marketing agency Greater Than One and founder of the non-profit, Greater Honeycomb, is the featured guest on a recent episode of Med Ad Views, the podcast and video series produced by Med Ad News and PharmaLive that showcases conversations with leaders shaping the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
During the interview, Apelles reflects on building Greater Than One into one of healthcare’s most respected independent agencies, sharing the entrepreneurial lessons, leadership philosophy, and strategic thinking that guided the company’s growth. She also discusses her decision to transition from agency leadership to philanthropy, focusing her efforts on developing innovative, sustainable funding models for nonprofit organizations.
The conversation highlights the inspiration behind her newest initiative, laucned in April 2026, Honey Paws ( https://honeypaws.org/),. Honey Paws is dedicated to protecting breeding dogs and ending puppy mill cruelty. “We believe this is one of the most secretive and cruel $1B business in the country, with countless breeding dogs spending their lives in overcrowded cages, receiving inadequate veterinary care, and being bred repeatedly with little regard for their health or well-being. The inventory of puppies is used for multiple purposes, many of them not good”. says Apelles.
The wide-ranging interview also explores how the business principles that fueled the success of Greater Than One are now being applied to create scalable philanthropic ventures capable of generating lasting impact for rare disease advocacy organizations, animal rescue groups, and other mission-driven nonprofits.
